The national flower of Malaysia, where MONIN’s Asian production is based, Hibiscus was developed as a MONIN syrup flavour after being selected as the winning entry of a company contest to suggest new flavours.
An edible flower eaten as a delicacy, Hisbiscus is often consumed as an infusion. It is a beautiful, eye-catching bloom, which is suited to warm or tropical climates and whose varieties include red, pink, purple, orange, white, blue and yellow. Tahitian women often wear a single flower behind their ear to signify their availability for marriage.

A floral nose with notes of red fruits (cranberry and cherry). At first, gives a sweet palate, which then turns tart. The ideal taste of the hibiscus infusion, with balanced notes of floral tea and red fruit.
