Tales of the Cocktail gathers the best of the best bartenders. This is the perfect occasion to visit groundbreaking spots! 

Tujague’s, Ask for Missy!
Tujague’s, the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans features classic cocktails with a modern twist. Tujague’s, established in 1856 manages to preserve its antiquity yet still to have an atmosphere that is both lively with characters and fun! Put your foot up on the brass foot rail of the beautiful century old cypress bar and enjoy craft cocktails perfectly executed by Missy, the bartender. Every drink tasted was prefect. My favorite was the Ramos Gin Fizz which wasn’t on the menu but was recommended to me by a local wiccan – flamenco dancer named Michelle Marie. Missy shook that tin as if her life depended on it and the result was the creamiest, most delicious one I’ve had to date! Other notable drinks were the “Rose Tattoo",  "French Twist"  and "Pimms Cup”.

The Pimms Cup cocktail was so good that I decided to create my own MONIN version of it:

3 cucumber, peeled and seeded
1/4 oz. (10 ml) MONIN Pure Cane Syrup
2 oz. (55 ml) Pimm's® No. 1 Gin
3/4 oz. (20 ml) fresh lemon juice
2 oz. (55 ml) ginger ale
 
Muddle cucumber and MONIN® Pure Cane Syrup in shaker. Add Pimm's® and lemon juice.
Cap and shake with ice.
Strain into chilled Collins glass filled with fresh ice.
Top with ginger ale and stir.

Muriel’s Jackson Square
At one time this beautiful building was one of New Orleans grandest homes, now its Muriel's on Jackson Square. This picturesque restaurant in the heart of the French Quarter boasts a cocktail menu that is both innovative and delectable. All cocktails were created by Mary Hulse, bar manager and prepared by the bartender Leda. Each drink was served properly chilled and beautifully presented. 
The staff at Muriel’s are so welcoming that the a table is set nightly for the resident ghost.
Notable drinks were the “Summer Thyme Blues, Honey Child and Come Fly With Me.”
